Project Description

Using a team integrated design-build project delivery model for a 42,000 sq. ft. fitness, health and wellness centre on the Confederation College campus. The design focused on green initiatives and sustainable building practices. Construction methods included driven piles, concrete foundations, combination structural steel and Glu-Lam wood structure, EPDM roofing, composite siding, aluminum curtain walls.

Interior finishes include epoxy running track, wood gymnasium flooring, specially sports flooring as well as locker, changeroom and sauna facilities. Landscaping worked closely with the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority to meet the site-specific requirements.
