Project Description

This project involved the Construction of a new Building and Site Package at Red Rock Indian Band Business Centre in Lake Helen First Nation. This two-storey building is approximately 12,000 sq. ft. and wheelchair accessible. The first level has office spaces, reception area, elevator and kitchen. The second level is office space and a board room. The Professional Building Complex has also been designed for a future expansion to be built off of the south-east wall of the building.

Tom Jones Corporation coordinated with WSP Canada Inc. A/49 out of Thunder Bay and worked closely with the Red Rock Indian Band and sub-trades to complete the two phase project.

The first phase, the laying of the foundation, was completed by TJC in November 2014. Phase two, the construction of the building and site services, was completed in 2015.

The structure is wood frame with an engineered truss roof system and interior walls of wood framing and masonry block. Interior When required and available, local workers were involved in the construction.
