Project Description

White Cedar Health Care Centre is a holistic treatment facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This state-of-the-art facility supports an alternative program of care that focuses on First Nations traditional healing practices. White Cedar will provide treatment services that bring together its harm reduction model with the holistic teachings of White Cedar Health Care Centre and the capacity to treat other forms of addiction to such substances as nicotine, cocaine and alcohol.  

The Design/Build project involved the renovation of a former movie store into a new Treatment Clinic, Pharmacy and Methadone Treatment Clinic. Along with the architect FORM Architecture Engineering, Tom Jones Corporation was successful in creating a space that cares for the cultural health and wellness needs of the community.

Renovations included exterior improvements and interior renovations with new finishes, upgrades to Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC systems, as well as attention to specialized Pharmacy Security. The project was completed in six months.
